I facilitate communication between scientists and citizens through fruitful collaborations, with highlights including

• Co-mediating a public forum (150+ attendees) on a county Climate Action & Adaptation Plan

• Bringing together scientists, land managers, and landowners (100+ attendees) for a two-day watershed science symposium

Collaborating with the Humanities

I've sustained mutually beneficial relationships with scholars of literature, rhetoric, and culture. Together, we've learned how ecological science can enrich literary interpretations, and how literature can enrich our understanding of ecological place, including

• Co-authoring a manuscript on how humans function in British Romantic pastoral ecosystems, both real and poetic

• Writing a book chapter to make inter-expert science stories more accessible to educators in the humanities classroom
